I had been let out of school early and was at home in the living room when the unexpected February quake shook me and my family. I was at the computer and as the entire ground shook i almost bounced off my seat. I was shocked and terrified. I could hardly walk at all as the ground was shacking so violently. I roughly remember my sister and my dad in living room with me trying to get across to the other side of the living room and out the doors so we could be outside where nothing would fall on us, but the sliding doors were slamming back and forth. My other sister was at the supermarket when the earthquake happened, and when she got home she was so scared. She told us there was glass flying everywhere and that the noise was unbelievable. She said the elder lady beside her was so shocked. My mum was in the car and she said the roads were all wavy and she thought she was going to crash into other cars. It’s so scary being in the position when an earthquake can hit at any moment, and it’s so sad to see destruction to our beautiful city.
